UV RESIN
During the year these workshops are regularly held in Singapore.
Techniques for resin are easy to apply to all metal clays for incredibly beautiful jewelry.
This workshop is a wonderful introduction to the world of resin and shows you how much fun resin is. You'll create a variety of different pieces of jewellery and come away with a whole lot more ideas than we can possibly fit into the workshop.
Resin is a great way to add color to your jewelry. It can be used with or without pigment colorants, mica powders, acrylic and oil paints. You can embed stones, glitter, dry flowers, images, shells and a lot of other decorative elements. Used on its own, it offers you an easy and affordable way of creating various jewelry designs.
When resin is cured it has a hard, smooth, shiny finish.
Resin comes in many different versions:
- Casting resin is used for casting into deeper moulds.
- Pouring (or coating) resin is used in thin layers.
- UV resin cures in minutes with the help of UV light.
Compared to normal resin, there is less waste, as you don't have to mix two components, and no more worrying about exact measurements! The UV resin doesn't smell, it is non-yellowing and self-levelling. So all in all, very easy to use!
